I dreamed about my old bestfriend that I dont talk anymore and what happened we was getting drunk in a flat and she said she was going to get some more alcohol and drive I didn't want to go and told her not to go, when she got into the basement she got into the car which was broken it ended up exploding and she ended up dying making a whole massive thing on the news and I felt bad because it felt like it was my fault she got into the car but I didint feel anything towards her death even though I tried to feel bad
Dreams involving old friends, especially those with whom you've lost contact, can often symbolize unresolved feelings or a desire for closure. Let's explore the elements of your dream:
Reconnection with an Old Friend: Dreaming about someone you used to be close to, like an old best friend, often suggests that there are unresolved emotions or unresolved issues in your waking life. It might not necessarily mean you need to reconnect with them, but there may be lessons from that past relationship that need attention.
Being in a Flat and Getting Drunk: This setting and activity could point to feelings of escapism or dealing with some current stress or anxieties. Getting drunk in dreams can also symbolize letting go of inhibitions or dealing with emotions that you might be trying to suppress in your waking life.
Driving Under the Influence: This part of the dream can be interpreted as a warning sign. It suggests reckless decision-making or moving forward with something in your life without paying attention to potential risks or consequences. It may reflect concerns about someone else's behavior or decisions, symbolized by your friend, or perhaps your own fears about losing control in some area of your life.
The Car Explosion and Death: The violent end to your dream might indicate significant change or an abrupt end that you fear or anticipate. Explosions often symbolize the release of pent-up emotions or tension. The death of your friend in the dream may not necessarily be about her specifically but could symbolize the end of an aspect of your old self or a relationship. This might be urging you to let go of past guilt or to confront fears regarding sudden changes.
Feeling Blamed and Indifferent: Feeling like it was your fault yet feeling indifferent suggests conflicting emotions. It could represent inner conflict about past actions or decisions where you feel you could have done something differently. The lack of emotion toward her death might symbolize a detachment or a way of coping with complicated feelings from the past. It might also suggest that you have, on some level, moved on or need to move on emotionally from the past.
In summary, your dream seems to be grappling with themes of closure from past relationships, dealing with guilt or responsibility, and the need to confront or acknowledge buried emotions. It might be beneficial to reflect on your past friendship and consider if there are lessons or feelings you haven't fully processed. Journaling or discussing these feelings with a trusted person might help in understanding what this dream is bringing to your awareness.
